About the Journal
Peritoneal Dialysis International (PDI) is an international publication dedicated to peritoneal dialysis. PDI welcomes original contributions dealing with all aspects of peritoneal dialysis from scientists working in the peritoneal dialysis field around the world.
Peritoneal Dialysis International is included in Index Medicus and indexed in Current Contents/Clinical Practice, the Science Citation Index, and Excerpta Medica (Nephrology/Urology Core Journal). It is also abstracted and indexed in Chemical Abstracts (CA), as well as being indexed in Embase as a priority journal.
PDI has been assigned an ISI Impact Factor of 1.908 for 2008.
A Message from the Editor-in-Chief
As editor of Peritoneal Dialysis International, I would like to say the whole Editorial Board and I are very enthusiastic about the new arrangement between PDI, Multimed, and HighWire Press. We have been aware for some time that PDI needs to improve its online availability to our subscribers and to the Nephrology Community generally. This initiative, involving an interaction with a highly successful web host organization, will make our journal much more available than previously. I am confident that this initiative has the potential to greatly increase our profile and our readership, and to improve our citation index. It has been well recognized in recent years that journals increase their number of citations when they go online. The potential to present research results to a wider audience will also encourage investigators to submit to PDI. We look forward to this new initiative with Multimed and HighWire.
